Bi-Partisan groups commend Carroll County, Georgia Elections staff and volunteers for exceptional job managing recent elections. Carrollton, Georgia. Today four leading civic organizations deliver a letter to the Carroll County Board of Commissioners thanking the staff and volunteers with the Carroll County Elections and Registration Office for an exceptional job providing county voters a safe, secure, and convenient exercise of their vote during the 2020 election cycle. The civic groups include the local chapters of the Republican Party, Democratic Party, League of Women Voters and National Association for Advancement of Colored People. The civic groups set aside their differences to recognize the hard work, dedication and professionalism of the people who do the hard work of conducting elections. County elections boards and staff are responsible for enabling the pillar of representative democracy: fair and secure elections. The 2020 elections, which continued through January 2021 in Georgia, were an extraordinary challenge for all those involved. The groups cited the new voting equipment, Covid 19 pandemic, surge in use of absentee ballots, audits, recounts and runoff among the challenges faced by the people conducting our elections. These partisan and non-partisan civic groups saw the Carroll County elections team serve with professionalism, grace, competence and dedication. The letter of commendation will be delivered to the Board of Commissioners at the regular scheduled board meeting at 6pm, February 2, 2021 in the Carroll County Courthouse, Carrollton Georgia.
